No. 4 South Carolina Leads by Three at Liz Murphey

ATHENS, Ga. — No. 4 South Carolina leads by three shots heading into the final round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. The Gamecocks shot a field-best 291 (+3) on Saturday to climb three spots on the leaderboard into pole position.
 
Carolina will be seeking its second consecutive win, which would be the team’s fourth of the season and tie a program record for the most wins in a season (won four times last season).
 
Freshman Louise Rydqvist paced the Gamecocks with a an even par 72 in the second round as she climbed 28 spots on the leaderboard to T-18^th.
 
 Fellow freshman Hannah Darling and junior Mathilde Claisse each shot 73 (+1). Claisse is T-3^rd at 1-over for the tournament and Darling is T-6^th at 2-over. Haille Cooper (Texas A&M) and Polly Mack (Alabama) are tied for the lead at even par through 36 holes.
 
Junior transfer Justine Fournand also shot 73 (+1) and was the final counting score today. She is T-36^th at 9-over. The former FAU standout led the team with four birdies today.
 
Graduate transfer Tai Anudit shot 77 (+5) but she remains in the hunt and is T-12^th at 5-over for the tournament.
 
It’s a three-team race heading into tomorrow between, Carolina, No. 14 Texas A&M and No. 3 Wake Forest. The Aggies and Demon Deacons are three shots behind the Gamecocks.
 
Fournand will be the first player off for Carolina on championship Sunday, teeing off at hole one at 9:39 a.m. (ET).
