Softball Falls in Game Two to No. 24 Tigers
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The South Carolina softball dropped game two of its series at No. 24 Missouri Saturday afternoon (Apr. 2), as the Gamecocks fell 7-3.
Jordan Fabian led Carolina at the plate going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
After Missouri scored a run in the first with two outs, the Gamecocks took the lead in the third. Kassidy Krupit led off the inning with a single and Emma Sellers followed with a walk. One out later, Fabian singled to center, scoring pinch runner Giulia Desiderio. Hannah Kumiyama then doubled down the left field line, scoring pinch runner Olivia Cook from second. The final run came across when Katie Prebble drove in Fabian on a ground out to the second baseman.
The Tigers tied the game after scoring a run in the third and another in the fourth. They would break the tie in the sixth, scoring four runs.
Kelsey Oh took the loss, allowing three runs in a 1 2-3 innings of relief. Bailey Betenbaugh started in the circle for Carolina as she allowed three runs, two earned, on two hits in 3 2-3 innings.
The final game of the series takes place tomorrow, April 3, with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
