The Gamecocks went 2-2 on the week, beating North Carolina on Tuesday and Georgia on Saturday.
COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team went 2-2 on the weekend, defeating North Carolina in the midweek before falling in 2-of-3 games against Georgia.

NOTES:
Carolina scored a season high 15 runs and tied a season best with 14 hits in the Tuesday night win over North Carolina. Braylen Wimmer had three hits in the win while Jack Mahoney belted a three-run home run.
Josiah Sightler had three outfield assists in the Georgia series, including ones to save runs both Friday and Sunday. Sightler also had a pair of doubles in the series.
Will Sanders struck out nine on Saturday in 6.1 innings pitched vs. Georgia as the Gamecocks won 13-7. Sanders allowed just five hits with three earned runs to improve to 5-1 on the year.
Brandt Belk carries a 20-game hitting streak into Tuesday night vs. North Florida. On the weekend, Belk was 6-for-10 with three runs scored and a home run on Sunday. Belk is hitting .368 on the season with nine home runs, five home runs and 27 RBI.
Colin Burgess belted his second home run of the year in Saturday’s win over Georgia, a three-run shot to right. Burgess had five RBI in the series and caught 26 innings on the weekend.
Carolina hosts North Florida on Tuesday and Ole Miss for a three-game series starting Thursday night through Saturday afternoon.
