Softball Falls to No. 7 Razorbacks in Series Finale
The Gamecocks return home for their final SEC series of the season when they host Kentucky May 6-8.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The South Carolina softball team dropped its final of its series at No. 7 Arkansas Sunday morning (May 1), as the Gamecocks fell 8-0.
Carolina put a base runner on in four of the five innings, with their best opportunity for a run coming in the second. Maddie Gallagher led off the inning by getting hit and Kassidy Krupit reached on an infield single.
Arkansas scored two in the first, one in the third, and five in the fourth. The Gamecocks turned two inning-ending double plays, one in the first and another in the third.
Leah Powell took the loss in 3 2-3 innings. All three of her strikeouts came in the second inning as she struck out the side in order.
