Josiah Sightler now has 15 home runs after his two blasts in the 4-1 win over Florida on May 21. In league play, Sightler is now hitting .340 with eight doubles, 11 home runs and 24 RBI.
 
Carolina earned the 10th seed in the SEC Tournament and will face seventh-seed Florida on Tuesday afternoon. Carolina has qualified for 25 straight SEC Tournament and have a 29-50 record with a 2004 SEC Tournament championship.
 
The Gamecocks are 4-3 all-time against Florida in the SEC Tournament.
 
The Gamecock pitching staff did not allow an earned run in Saturday’s win over Florida. Cade Austin earned the win for the Gamecocks, striking out one and allowing just two hits in three innings. Will Sanders struck out the side in a one-inning start, while Matthew Becker pitched two scoreless innings. John Gilreath picked up his first save of 2022, striking out a pair in three scoreless innings.
