Sean Petersen Named CoSIDA Academic All-American
Senior Owns a Perfect 4.0 GPA in Finance.
University of South Carolina distance runner Sean Petersen has been named to the 2021-22 third-team Academic All-America squad as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced today.
Petersen, a senior from Cary, N.C., owns the program’s seventh-fastest time in the indoor mile, clocking a time of 4:11.39. In addition, he was part of three of the top-five and four of the top-10 distance medley relay teams in school history.
Peterson set the school record at 3,000 meters with a time of 8:37.90 during the 2021 outdoor season. He also ran the anchor leg on the third-fastest DMR team in program history this season.
Petersen is a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member and is part of the South Carolina President’s Honor Roll while posting a perfect 4.0 GPA as a finance major.
