Last Time Out

The Gamecocks fell on the road 2-1 in a tough battle against Vanderbilt (9-2-3) on Friday, Oct. 14. South Carolina notched the first goal of the game with freshman Shae O’Rourke finding the back of the net after an assist from fellow rookie Micah Bryant in the 73rd minute. Less than two minutes later, a foul on senior Camryn Dixon in the box set up a penalty kick for the Commodores, where Ella Shamburger was able to capitalize and tie things at 1-1. Five minutes after the goal, Vanderbilt was able to find success once again through Raegan Kelley with an assist from Alex Kerr in the 78th minute to put themselves on top 2-1.

Scouting the Aggies

Thursday’s meeting with Texas A&M will be the 12th in program history. The Aggies lead the overall series 6-4-1, with the Gamecocks taking the slight edge being 4-1-0 in the last five matchups. The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 2-1 South Carolina victory back in October of 2018.

The Aggies most recently defeated Auburn at home 3-1 on Friday, finishing with a 12(5)-8(5) shot advantage. Malie Hayes had an excellent night, recording two of the three goals (with assists from Kate Colvin, Carissa Boeckmann, and Carolyn Calzada) in addition to recording her own assist for Boeckmann with less than nine seconds of play time left.

Gate & Parking Information

For fans attending Thursday’s game, student entry can be made through the Whaley Street gates. All others (media, season ticket holders, walk-ups) can enter through the Heyward Street gate. Parking is free within the Athletic Village Garage.
