Hamner to Play in Consolation Draw
San Diego, Calif. – South Carolina women’s tennis sophomore Sarah Hamner fell out of the main draw at the ITA Fall National Championships on Wednesday after dropping her first-round match.
Hamner was defeated by Ohio State’s Sydni Ratliff in a three-set battle. The No. 2 ranked Gamecock took the first set 6-0, but the 51st ranked Buckeye made a comeback, taking the next two sets 6-3 and 6-3 for the win.
The sophomore will move to the consolation bracket where she will face No. 74 Malaika Rapolu of Texas at a time to be announced later.
