Gamecocks to Host Three Youth Indoor Track & Field Meets

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Nov. 30, 2022) – The University of South Carolina is excited to host a trio of indoor youth track & field meets at the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex.

The Gamecocks will host the Gamecock Indoor Challenge #1 on Jan. 7, 2023, followed by the Gamecock Indoor Challenge #2 on Jan. 15. The indoor youth meets will culminate with the Gamecock Indoor Finale on Feb. 18.

All three meets are sanctioned by USA Track & Field and hosted by Speed Elite. South Carolina assistant coach Karim Abdel Wahab serves as the Meet Director. Divisions are available for ages 8-18 and the entry fee is $40 per athlete.

South Carolina’s indoor facility features a banked six-lane 200m track with a Mondo surface and is known to be one of the faster tracks for times. The facility also includes two horizontal jump runways, two pole vault runways, a throws cage for the shot put and a high jump apron.
