Gamecock Athletics partners with USC First Lady, Board of Visitors and Gamecock Pantry to host collection drives
Gamecock Athletics has announced a partnership with University of South Carolina First Lady Ero Aggelopoulou-Amiridis, the University of South Carolina Board of Visitors and the Gamecock Pantry to host collection drives to help out the Gamecock Community.
The Gamecock Pantry is an on-campus food pantry that provides free food, toiletries and school supplies to USC students, faculty and staff to help meet their basic needs. Gamecock Athletics will host two collection drives for the Gamecock Pantry.
“This is an opportunity for all Gamecock fans to come together and show their support for other Gamecocks. Our goal with this partnership is to ensure that our Food Pantry is fully stocked and able to meet the basic needs of our Carolina community.”
The first collection drive was on Sunday, February 26, at Colonial Life Arena when the women’s basketball team hosted Georgia. Fans were asked to bring non-perishable food items and toiletries. Over 3,700 items were collected totaling over 1,118 pounds!
The second collection drive will occur on Saturday, March 11, at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field for the softball game vs. LSU. For the second collection, fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items and school supplies to drop off in collection bins next to the ticket tent.
