Bailey Betenbaugh started in the circle, allowing one run on two hits in two innings of work.

Game 2

The scoring starting again in the second, as LSU scored first. The Gamecocks responded in the bottom half of the inning as Gonzalez doubled to lead off the frame. After going to third on a wild pitch, she stole home when the Tiger catcher threw behind her.

LSU added to the lead with a run in the third before scoring three in the seventh with two outs.

South Carolina used all six of its pitchers in the game. Karsen Ochs dropped to 5-2 with the loss as she allowed a run on three hits in an inning of work. The staff combined to strike out seven Tigers.

The Gamecocks continue their homestand with a mid-week game on March 15 against in-state foe Presbyterian at 6 p.m.
