Gamecocks to take on Auburn in First Round of NCEA Nationals

OCALA, FL – The No. 7 seeded South Carolina Equestrian team (5-8) will take on the No. 2 seeded Auburn Tigers (11-2) in Session 2 of the 2023 NCEA Championship on Thursday, April 13 at 2:30 p.m. EST. The event will be streamed on H&C+, and live scoring will be available. The Gamecocks return to Nationals for the first time since 2019, and look to take their fourth national championship (2005, 2007, 2015).

LAST TIME OUT

South Carolina last competed against Georgia in the consolation round of the SEC Tournament, falling 15-5 to the Bulldogs. Madeline Schaefer earned an All-Championship Team selection for her efforts in Fences for the weekend, while Haley Turner received the same for her rides in Reining.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS

The current reigning SEC Tournament Champions, Auburn leads the overall series with South Carolina 33-16. The Gamecocks were defeated by the Tigers in both meetings during the regular season, but saw wins from Jordan Allen, Trinity Hammerschmidt, Emily Giorgio, Emma Lane, Kiersten Beckner and Emilia Reutimann.
