COLUMBIA, S.C. — The University of South Carolina baseball team finishes up its seven-game homestand this weekend as the Gamecocks host Auburn for a three-game SEC series. The series starts on Friday, April 28 at 7 p.m. and continues Saturday, April 29 at 4 p.m. It concludes with a noon game on Sunday, April 30.

Friday and Saturday’s games will be streamed on SEC Network Plus. Sunday’s game will be televised on SEC Network with Sam Ravech and Gregg Olson on the call. All games also will be broadcast on the Gamecocks Sports Network from Learfield with Derek Scott and Tommy Moody on the call.

The Gamecocks are coming off a three-game sweep of No. 3 Florida. The Carolina pitching staff held Florida to just 10 runs in three games while Ethan Petry had eight RBI and two home runs in the three wins.

PARKING INFORMATION
Shuttle parking for the University of South Carolina baseball season will be operational at the Key Road Gravel Lot (1105 Key Road). Shuttle begins two (2) hours prior to first pitch and continues until 1 hour after the game.

For GPS purposes, the address for the Key Road Gravel Lot is 1105 Key Road, Columbia, SC 29201.

SCOUTING AUBURN
The Tigers are coming off an 8-7 loss to Troy on Tuesday night. Bobby Peirce had four hits in the loss. Auburn is led by freshman Ike Irish’s .383 batting average and 18 doubles while Peirce is hitting .369. Bryson Ware has a team-best 16 home runs and 48 RBI. On the mound, Tommy Vail has a 3-1 record with a 3.83 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 42.1 innings pitched.

SERIES VS. AUBURN
Carolina holds a 46-29 series advantage on Auburn heading into this weekend’s series. Auburn swept Carolina in Auburn last season. Braylen Wimmer had two hits and three RBI in the 8-6 loss on Saturday.

GAMECOCKS CLOSE TO 500 SEC WINS
Carolina currently has 499 SEC wins heading into this weekend’s series vs. Auburn. The Gamecocks have a 499-394-1 all-time record in the SEC and won titles in 2000, 2002 and 2011 to go along with seven SEC East Division crowns.

PETRY MOVES INTO THE RECORD BOOKS
Freshman Ethan Petry now has the freshman record for home runs (20) and RBI (64) after his two-run double on April 22 broke Justin Smoak’s freshman RBI record, set in 2006. Petry now is two home runs away from breaking the SEC freshman mark set by Auburn’s Frank Thomas.

SANDERS HITS STRIKEOUT MILESTONE
Junior Will Sanders struck out 10 in six innings in a 13-3 win over Florida on April 20. He also reached 200 career strikeouts with his final one of the night vs. the Gators. Sanders has 200 strikeouts in 188 career innings with 17 wins and a 3.78 ERA.

GAMECOCKS IN THE NCAA RANKINGS
The Gamecocks are second in the nation with 92 home runs this season. Ethan Petry is tied for second with 20 home runs … The Gamecocks have the second-best ERA at 3.23 … Carolina is fifth in the nation in drawing walks with 259 and seventh in the country with 87 hit by pitches … The Gamecocks’ .431 on-base percentage is ninth in the country and Carolina has the fifth-best slugging percentage (.562) … Ethan Petry is tied for fifth with 64 RBI  … His .895 slugging percentage is third in the country … The .850 winning percentage is the second best in the country.
