Gamecocks Travel to Queen City for Royals Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 5, 2023) – With two more meets before the SEC Cross Country Championship, the Gamecocks will run in their final 5K event of the 2023 season. South Carolina is set to compete in the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, N.C. on Friday at 5:05 p.m, running at McAlpine Creek Park.

RUNNING WILD
South Carolina has had a strong start to the 2023 cross country campaign, thanks in large part to freshman phenom Judy Kosgei who has claimed a trio of SEC weekly honors.

The Gamecocks will be competing in their final 5K event of the season before fully turning their attention to the 6K. Kathleen Abrams and Greta White will be making their season debuts this weekend in Charlotte, with White making her collegiate debut. South Carolina will send nine runners to Charlotte, with Molly Parker posting the fastest active 5K time of 18:15.3 at the 2023 Gamecock Challenge.

GAMECOCK ENTRIES
The Gamecocks will all be competing in the Gold 5K and will run nine total student-athletes: Kathleen Abrams, Brooke Donoghue, Katerina Hendrix, Sarah Neville, Molly Parker, Aubrey Pierontoni, Emma Torbert, Greta White, and Ally Wilson.
