Coach Hall Announces 2024 Track & Field Schedule

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Nov. 13, 2023) – The Tim Hall Era is underway, and the Gamecocks have locked in their 2024 Track & Field schedule, announced by Coach Hall. South Carolina will compete in a total of 27 meets over a span of 19 weekends, with several weekends including multiple meets.

“I am really excited about our 2024 indoor and outdoor schedule,” state first year head coach Tim Hall. “Our student-athletes will have several opportunities to compete at home this season. Our schedule also allows us to compete in meets at venues that will host SEC and NCAA events prior to our championship meets. We feel this is important to ensure that our athletes are more relaxed and able to focus on optimal performance during our championships.”

RUNNING INDOORS
South Carolina will compete in 13 indoor meets over nine weekends, beginning on Dec. 8 when the Gamecocks travel to Clemson for the Clemson Opener. Carolina will play host to four indoor meets this season at the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Facility: Gamecock Opener (Jan. 13), Carolina Challenge (Jan. 19-20), South Carolina Invite (Feb. 2-3) and the USC Invite (Feb. 17).

The Gamecocks will compete in high level indoor meets such as the Boston Pre-Nationals Meet on Saturday, Jan. 20 as well as the following week when Carolina heads to Fayetteville, Ark. for the Razorback Invitational on Jan. 26-27. Both of those meets will pay dividends for the Gamecocks as the SEC Indoor Championship (Feb. 23-24) will be held at Arkansas, while the NCAA Indoor Championship will be hosted at the New Balance Track in Boston, Mass. on March 8-9.

GOOD TO BE OUTSIDE
The outdoor season will begin on March 14-16 for the Gamecocks as they travel to Conway, S.C. to compete in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina. The Gamecocks will host three outdoor meets this year at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track: Weems Baskin Relays (March 22-23), Gamecock Invitational (April 6) and the USC Open (April 20).

South Carolina will head down to Gainesville, Fla. three times during the outdoor season, competing in the Florida Relays (March 29-30), Tom Jones Invitational (April 12-13) and the 2024 SEC Outdoor Championship (May 9-11). Prior to the SEC Championship, the Gamecocks will split the team between two meets at either the Penn Relays (April 25-27) or the LSU Invitational (April 26-27).

This year’s NCAA Regional meet will be held on May 22-25 in Lexington, Ky. Meanwhile the NCAA Outdoor Championship is back in Tracktown, USA as the Gamecocks will head to Eugene, Ore. for the national meet from June 5-8.
