No. 11/11 Gamecocks Host LSU on Legends Weekend

South Carolina Athletics

South Carolina looking to get back on track after seeing 7-game SEC win streak snapped on Wednesday night at No. 13/12 Auburn

COLUMBIA, S.C. – No. 11/11 South Carolina (21-3, 9-2 SEC) returns home and faces LSU (12-12, 4-7 SEC) on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 3:30 p.m. (ET) at Colonial Life Arena with doors opening 1 hour prior. Dave Neal (pxp) and Jon Sundvold (analyst) will be on the call for the SEC Network broadcast.

It’s Legends Weekend as players and staff from years past will be in town for the game and honored at halftime. There will be a private reception Friday evening at Carolina Coliseum followed by a post-game event in the McGuire Club for all Legends Weekend attendees.

The Gamecocks will look to get back on track after seeing their seven-game win streak snapped at No. 13/12 Auburn on Wednesday. A win would give the team 10 SEC victories and mark just the eighth time in program history the program has had double-digit wins in the league since joining the SEC in 1991-92.

LSU will be looking to snap a three-game losing skid in the league. Tulane transfer Jalen Cook (15.6 ppg) and Vanderbilt transfer Jordan Wright (15.0 ppg) are the team’s two leading scorers. Nevada transfer Will Baker also averages double-figures (12.6 ppg). The Tigers are aggressive on defense and lead the SEC in steals per game at 8.5 (41st nationally).
