No. 5 Gamecocks Host Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Starting Monday

South Carolina Athletics

This year marks the 12th edition of the prestigious event which features 11 top-25 teams in the 17-team field this week

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – No. 5 South Carolina is set to host the 12th edition of the greatest show in women’s collegiate golf, the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, over the next three days in The Lowcountry. Long Cove Club will again play host to the prestigious event, which features 11 teams in the top-25 of the latest Clippd rankings.

The Gamecocks took second last year and All-American Mathilde Claisse became the first player in program history to win the tournament as she took home the individual crown, which also marked her first college victory.

South Carolina will be paired with two more top-five teams for the opening 18 holes on Monday alongside No. 2 Wake Forest and No. 4 LSU. Freshman Maylis Lamoure will be off at 11 a.m. (ET). Senior Sophia Burnett, freshman Vai Heck, junior All-American Hannah Darling and junior All-American Louise Rydqvist will follow in 10 minutes increments. Sophomore Mia Sandtorv Lussand will compete as an individual this week.

Per annual tradition, the 17 teams will be treated to a private concert this evening by country music star and South Carolina alum Darius Rucker.

Golfstat will have live scoring each day.

For the third consecutive year, Golf Channel will be televising the event each day from 2:30-5:30 p.m. (ET) live from Long Cove Club. The network made history at the event in 2022 as it became the first all-women’s collegiate event to be aired on TV.
