Tierney Horton Named SEC Horsemanship Co-Rider of the Month

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Junior Tierney Horton has been named the SEC Co-Rider of the Month for Horsemanship for the month of March, as announced by the conference on Thursday. This is Horton’s second SEC honor of the season (Sept. 2023), and the second of her career.

Horton had an impressive 17-point win in her 69-52 victory over her South Dakota State (Mar. 1) opponent to earn her second Most Oustanding Performer honor of the season in Horsemanship. Horton’s win also helped the Gamecocks sweep the event for the first time this season. The junior has made starts for the Gamecocks in all 13 meets in the regular season, racking up five wins with a season-high of 74.5.

Horton and the rest of the South Carolina Equestrian team will head to College Station, Texas to compete in the SEC Championships, March 29-30.
