Carolina was limited to three hits on the night, coming from Kianna Jones, Aniyah Black, and Giulia Desiderio. Sage Mardjetko (5-4) suffered the loss, she struck out three in 3 2-3 innings while allowing three runs.

The Lady Vols scored three runs in the fourth and five more in the sixth.

South Carolina’s best opportunity to score came in the second when Jones reached on an infield single. Black followed with a single off the pitcher’s glove and a sacrifice bunt moved them to second and third. The inning stalled there, as the next two batters were retired.
