No. 2 Gamecocks Open Regional Play Monday at Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – No. 2 South Carolina, the top seed, opens play at the NCAA Auburn Regional on Monday morning. The Gamecocks will be paired with host, No. 7 Auburn, and No. 14 Oregon, the No. 2 and 3 seeds for the regional.

It’ll be the same lineup for Carolina as its been much of the season this week. Junior All-Americans Louise Rydqvist and Hannah Darling hold down the top two spots in the lineup. They’re joined by a pair of All-SEC players in sophomore Mia Sandtorv Lussand and freshman Vairana Heck. Freshman Maylis Lamoure will be the fifth player in the lineup with senior Sophia Burnett serving as the team’s substitute.

The team is making its 25^th-straight NCAA Regional appearance this week.

Head coach Kalen Anderson, who was named SEC Coach of the Year for the fourth time in her career last week, seeks to guide the Gamecocks back to the NCAA Championship this week for the fourth straight year and the 11^th trip in the last 14 seasons under her direction. The program has made 20 NCAA Championship appearances all-time.

The top-five teams at this week’s Auburn Regional will advance to the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship at Omni Ls Costa Resort & Spa May 17-12 in Carlsbad, Calif.

Lamoure will be the first player off for Carolina in the morning at 9 a.m. (ET) from hole.  Live scoring will be available each day at Auburn University Club via Golfstat.
