Baseball Falls to JMU as 2024 Season Comes to a Close

RALEIGH  –  A pair of Mike Mancini home runs gave James Madison a 2-0 win over the University of South Carolina baseball team in game five of the 2024 NCAA Raleigh Regional, closing out its 2024 campaign.

Mancini’s first home run came in the first inning with his second an eighth-inning solo shot. Dylan Eskew gave the Gamecocks a great start, allowing just the one run on four hits with two strikeouts and two walks in 5.1 innings of work. Tyler Pitzer struck out a batter in two innings of relief with Parker Marlatt striking out one in two-thirds of an inning.

Austin Brinling had two hits in the game to lead the Carolina offense while Ethan Petry doubled for the eighth time this season.
