Softball Announces Support Staff Additions
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Head softball coach Ashley Chastain announced the addition of Kassidy Krupit and Josh Madole to the team’s support staff. Krupit will serve as the director of player development and analytics and Madole will serve as the director of softball performance for the upcoming season.
Kassidy Krupit
Krupit is a former Gamecock who spent last season on Chastain’s staff at Charlotte as a graduate assistant. She helped Charlotte to the program’s first conference tournament championship. She earned her master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Charlotte in May.
Krupit played for the Gamecocks from 2020-2022 after transferring from Baylor. With Carolina, she batted .283 over 121 games and 109 starts. She graduated in May of 2022 Magna Cum Laude with her bachelor’s degree in sport and entertainment management.
She transferred to Charlotte for the 2023 season as a graduate student. She led the 49ers to the Conference USA regular season title and advanced to the NCAA Regionals, both firsts in program history. Krupit earned First Team All-Conference USA and NFCA First Team All-Region honors.
Chastain on Krupit: “I am personally very excited to welcome home Kassidy. She is an alumnus of the program, and she has a passion for being a Gamecock that is unmatched, and she will bring that infectious energy each day to the staff and the team. She will oversee all the data, analytics, and technology systems which is pivotal in our player development systems. She has a high ceiling in our industry, and I am grateful that we get to see her blossom and begin her career with us here at South Carolina. She will also be able to speak to recruits and their families on her experience as a student-athlete here at South Carolina, which is invaluable to our program.”
Josh Madole
Madole spent the past four years at Charlotte, serving two years as sports performance coach and two years as a graduate assistant sports performance coach. He worked with the baseball and softball teams all four years, and spent the last two years also working with the track and field and women’s lacrosse teams.
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association. He also recently completed his Champion-Performance Specialist (C-PS) certification.
Madole played baseball at Charlotte and UNCG, and was invited to attend the MLB Draft League in 2022. He earned a master of science in kinesiology from Charlotte in 2023 and a bachelor of science in kinesiology from UNCG in 2021.
Chastain on Madole: “We are thrilled to bring on Josh as the director of softball performance. He brings a wealth of enthusiasm, professionalism and knowledge into our program and will help our athletes level up their overall strength and movement quality on the field. He is very familiar with our sport at a high level, and we believe he will be a key piece in the success of our program competing at a championship level. We are excited to welcome him into our family and to watch him build great relationships with our players and increase their confidence to push them to the next level.”
