Baseball's Petry Named Perfect Game Preseason All-American

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – University of South Carolina junior outfielder/infielder Ethan Petry has been named a Preseason All-American by Perfect Game, the organization announced this afternoon (Tuesday, Jan. 7). Petry earned second team honors by the Perfect Game staff.

Petry, who is a two-time Preseason All-American by PG and was the organization’s National Freshman of the Year in 2023, comes into his junior season with a .341 career average to go along with 18 doubles, a triple, 44 home runs (tied for fifth in Carolina history) and 128 RBI in his two years as a Gamecock. Last season, Petry played in 61 games with eight doubles, a triple, 21 home runs and 53 RBI while being named to the NCAA All-Raleigh Regional team and the CSC Academic All-District team.

Carolina will open the 2025 season on Friday, Feb. 14 with a 4 p.m. game against Sacred Heart at Founders Park.
