COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team was 1-3 on the week, defeating USC Upstate in seven innings before falling in three games at Texas A&M.

NOTES:
Henry Kaczmar continues to lead the Gamecocks in hitting in SEC contests. The junior, who has reached base in 19 straight games, has a .378 batting average in 15 conference contests with a double, three home runs and 12 RBI. Kaczmar had a two-run double in Saturday’s game against Texas A&M.
Ashton Crowther retired seven batters in a row in Thursday’s game against Texas A&M. He struck out a pair in the 2.1 innings of work. Crowther has 13 strikeouts in 15 innings this season.
Dylan Eskew pitched for the first time since the Oklahoma series in mid-March on Saturday against Texas A&M. Eskew went three innings and allowed just one earned run on two hits with three strikeouts. Eskew now has a 1.93 ERA in 23.1 innings this year.
Ethan Petry homered in Thursday’s game against Texas A&M and now has 54 in his Gamecock career. He is eight behind Justin Smoak’s 62 career home runs on Carolina’s all-time home run list. Petry leads Carolina in both home runs and RBI (33).
Carolina hosts The Citadel on Tuesday night, then faces Ole Miss in a three-game Thursday-Saturday series in Columbia.
