CLEMSON, S.C. – The Palmetto Series Presented by the South Carolina Education Lottery wraps up Tuesday when the No. 10/11 South Carolina softball team travels to No. 24/21 Clemson for a 7 p.m. first pitch on the ACC Network. The game will be the final on-field matchup of the Palmetto Series this season.

LEADING OFF

The 2025 season is the 52nd season for the Carolina Softball team.
This week in the NCAA RPI the Gamecocks are No. 1.
South Carolina remained in the top-11 of all four polls this week.
- The Gamecocks moved up to No. 6 in the Softball America poll. They remained No. 6 in the D1Softball and No. 10 in the NFCA/USA Today polls, and dropped to No. 11 in the ESPN/USA Softball poll.
For the first time in program history every game will be televised on the ESPN family of networks and digital platforms.
- South Carolina and Georgia are the only two Division I programs to have every game broadcast this season.
With the win over Ole Miss, the Gamecocks reached 30 wins for the 31st time in program history.
With the win over Youngstown State, the Gamecocks tied the program record from 1976 for most consecutive wins to start a season.
With the series win over #19 Ole Miss, the Gamecocks now have five series wins over top-20 opponents.
- They also have four series wins over top-15 opponents.
Carolina shutout Clemson for the first time in the series history and ending their program record streak of 54 consecutive games scoring a run.
Brooke Blankenship ranks 2nd in the nation in sacrifice flies.
- Her six sac flies are tied for 4th in a single season in program history.
Quincee Lilio leads the team with 16 multi-hit games on the season.
- Lilio is 16th in the nation in walks per game and 30th in on-base percentage.
Arianna Rodi is 3rd the nation in walks per game.
- She has reached base in 34 straight games.
- She collected her 100th career RBI on her three-run home run against Clemson.
- Rodi hit a home run in five straight games (Feb. 25 – Mar. 5), which it tied for the 14th longest streak in NCAA Division I history.
- Her 12 home runs on the season already rank tied for 5th in program history.
Karley Shelton ranks 7th in doubles and 15th in doubles per game.
Nealy Lamb ranks 27th in the nation in strikeouts per game.
- Lamb collected her 200th career strikeout Sunday against Arkansas.
Sam Gress ranks 12th nationally in saves.
South Carolina has outscored their opponents 269-127 on the season, including 48-13 in the fourth inning and 28-6 in the seventh inning.
As a team they rank 4th the nation in fielding percentage and double.
They also rank 5th in double per game, 6th in walks, 8th in sacrifice flies, and double plays per game.
They rank in the top-30 in four other categories: double plays, shutouts, on-base percentage, and winning percentage.

NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS IS NOTHING NEW FOR SC

South Carolina is 295-74 (.800) over the past nine years in games outside the SEC.
Notable wins include Clemson, Duke, Texas Tech, Boston U, Utah, Texas, Penn State, Houston, Arizona State, North Carolina, Florida State, California, Virginia Tech, USF, Long Beach State, Hofstra, Liberty, and UCF.
Carolina will play 33 non-conference games in 2025, 28 of which will be played at Carolina Softball Stadium.

GAMECOCKS VS. RANKED OPPONENTS

South Carolina is 183-406-1 (.311) against opponents ranked in the NFCA top 25 since 1995.
Broken down by site, the Gamecocks are 88-141 (.384) at home, 49-190 (.205) on the road and 47-74-1 (.389) in neutral-site outings.
In 2025 the Gamecocks are 12-9 against ranked opponents.
In 2024, the Gamecocks went 9-20 against ranked opponents. They earned victories over #21 Kentucky (twice), #10 Florida, #17 Arkansas, #16 Mississippi State (twice), #11 Clemson, #24 Boston U and #13 Utah.

SOUTH CAROLINA HISTORICAL RECORD

South Carolina has played 2,678 games in its softball history, going 1,725-946-7 (.645) in its 52 years of history.
Carolina has posted 30 or more wins in 10 of the past 12 full seasons.
Carolina has protected home well, also, with 17 or more victories coming in friendly confines each of the past 11 full years.

CAROLINA RUNS THIS STATE

Since 2011 Carolina owns an 93-14 mark against other Palmetto State schools.
That mark includes a 31-game winning streak that stretched over five seasons before Coastal Carolina snapped the streak in 2017.
South Carolina went 7-2 last season against in-state foes.
