Carnicella Wraps Up ITA All-American Championships Run

CARY, N.C. – South Carolina women’s tennis junior Kaitlyn Carnicella closed out her run at the ITA All-American Championships on Thursday morning, falling in three sets in the round of 32.

On Wednesday, Carnicella advanced with an impressive 6-2, 6-3 victory over Vanderbilt’s Bridget Stammel in the round of 64. She returned to action Thursday against Emma Charney of the University of Southern California, taking the opening set 6-4 before Charney answered with a 6-3 win in the second. Charney secured the match with a 6-2 decision in the third.

Up next the Gamecocks head to another ITA tournament, competing at the ITA Regional Championships in Chapel Hill, North Carolina from Oct. 16-21.
