Gamecock Track & Field Hosts Indoor Finale and Senior Day
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Feb. 19, 2026) – South Carolina Track & Field will return home to host the USC Invite at the Sheila & Morris Cregger Indoor Track & Field Facility this Saturday, Feb. 21. This meet will be the final regular season indoor competition before the SEC indoor Championship next weekend in College Station, Texas. Saturday’s outing will also serve as Senior Day for eight Gamecocks.

Know Before You Go
Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex does have a CLEAR BAG POLICY that will be in effect. Learn everything you need to know about the Clear Bag Policy by clicking here. There is also a WATER BOTTLE POLICY for all patrons and that is: one clear, plastic disposable water bottle is permitted. No hard, non-clear refillable bottles are allowed inside the facility.
Parking
For the USC Invite, spectators will be able to utilize the Athletics Village Parking Garage for $10 per car, with no re-entry. There will also be city metered parking surrounding the complex that will also be made available through the ParkMobile app.

All patrons will be granted FREE ADMISSION this weekend. Please note that the Sheila & Morris Cregger Indoor Track & Field Facility is a CASH ONLY facility for any and all transactions.
Meet Information
The USC Invite will be a one-day event on Saturday, Feb. 21. Prior to events starting, a senior recognition will take place at 10:30 a.m. Competition will start in the field at 11:00 a.m, while the Gamecock’s first event will be the men’s 60mH at 12:10 p.m. The last event for the day is slated to be the women’s 4x400m relay at 4:35 p.m. A total of 16 teams will compete in the meet, including a pair of SEC foes in Georgia and Tennessee. The Gamecocks will also welcome ACC competitor, Georgia Tech, to the USC Invite.
Senior Spotlight
With the last home meet of the indoor season, eight seniors will be recognized prior to the meet: Alexis Brown, Slyvia Chelangat, Brandon Dennis, Cameron Gist, Edouard Lecrivain, Eline Mast, Parker Samuelson, and David Warmington Jr.
No Slowing Down
The Gamecocks continued to tally wins and program records over last weekend’s split competition at Clemson and Boston. Two program records were broken, eleven Top 10 program marks were recorded and six wins were secured to maintain a dominant performance in the indoor season. At the Tiger Paw Invitational, the men’s team won five events, winning all four of the events they competed in on day two of the meet. In Boston, a handful of personal best times were recorded by both men’s and women’s distance runners, including Salma Elbadra’s new mile program record of 4:27.54.
In the Rankings
Leading up to the SEC indoor Championship and prior to preparing for the NCAA Indoor Championship, the Gamecocks have several athletes eyeing qualification in their events. To qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championship in Fayetteville, Ark., athletes must rank Top 16 in their own individual events while ranking Top 12 for relay qualifications.
Currently, South Carolina has a combined 18 entries for the national championship meet. The women’s team holds 12, while the men currently sit with six. The men’s 4x400m team of Josiah Wrice, Jasauna Dennis, Devan Crumpton and Andrew Salvodon lead the rankings as they sit in first following the second fastest time in collegiate history of 3:00.86. On the women’s side, a trio of Gamecocks are ranked third nationally: JaMeesia Ford (200m) with a time of 22.61, Zaya Akins (400m) timed at 51.15, and Salma Elbadra with a 8:41.76 in the 3000m. The 4x400m relay team of Zaya Atkins, Maya Love, Akala Garrett, and JaMeesia Ford also sit in third, having recorded a time off 3:27.75 at the Razorback Invitational. The field events are led by Jathiyah Muhammad ranked sixth for women’s pole vault (4.50m) and Logan Montgomery sitting 10th in the men’s shot put (19.64m). Freshman jumper Tristen Harris currently ranks 14th in the long jump as well.
Gamecocks Garner Recognition
Nationally, the Gamecock women are ranked fourth overall in the latest USTFCCCA Top 25, while the men have moved up into 14th. South Carolina consistently ranks in the Top 20 for events on both the men’s and women’s teams as well. The women’s team sits third in both the 200m and 60m. They are also ranked fourth for the 60mH, tenth for pole vault, fifteenth in the mile, 18th in the 5000m and 19th in the 3000m. The men hold third place in the 400m, tenth in the 200m and sixteenth in the 800m.
