2018 (Senior): Finished her Gamecock career playing in 65 games with 62 starts in 2018… Finishes her two years in Columbia with 108 appearances and 103 starts, 76 hits, 66 RBI and 22 home runs (5th-most all-time in program history)… Had 14 home runs in 2018, one off tying the school record for homers in a season… Had 11 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI performances… First hit of the year was a three-run homer in the win over Hofstra (2/10)… Went 2-for-3 with a run and RBI on a home run in the win over Louisville (2/23)… Followed that up going 2-for-2 with an RBI in the win over Bradley (2/23)… Had three RBI and a homer in the win over Liberty (3/2)… Started SEC play with a 4-for-4 game with a run and double to help the Gamecocks to victory over Ole Miss (3/16)… 1-for-3 with a home run over Texas A&M in College Station (3/31)… Three-run homer over Georgia Southern (4/4)… 2-for-2 with two RBI in the win over Winthrop (4/11)… Went 2-for-4 with three RBI in the series-clinching win over Missouri (4/21)… Followed that up going 2-for-3 with a run and RBI on a homer in the series finale against the Tigers (4/22)… 2-for-4 with a run and homer as well as two RBI to help the Gamecocks defeat USC Upstate (4/25)… Hit a key grand slam in the win over Mississippi State to lock up the series (4/28)… 3-for-5 with three RBI against Kentucky (5/6)… Had a hit in the first game of the Tempe Super Regional (5/25). 

2017 (JUNIOR): Drew 41 starts during her first year as a Gamecock and hit eight home runs, tying for second on the team … Had an ankle injury that cost her time and limited her to 25 starts behind the plate … Her bases-loaded walk tied the game in what turned out to be the 200th win in Beverly Smith’s career at South Carolina in a victory against Charlotte (2/12) … Doubled and walked twice and drove in four runs in the win at Texas (2/17) … Hit two home runs at North Carolina (2/22) … Doubled twice in the second North Dakota State win (2/25) … Reinjured her ankle in the next game on defense, taking her out of action for two weeks … Returned against USC Upstate (3/15) … Made her mark with a 3-for-4 day against Gardner-Webb (3/21), hitting a home run and plating four in the win … Also drove in four and hit a homer in a 2-for-3 outing in the win at No. 9/9 Alabama (3/26) … Drew walks in both games against No. 7/5 Texas A&M (4/1-2) … Tallied a 3-for-4 outing with a home run, two RBI and two runs in the triumph vs. No. 1/2 Florida State (4/14) … Combined to go 3-for-4 with a walk and a home run in the doubleheader sweep of Charleston Southern (4/18) … Hit a double that put the Gamecocks on top for good in the Friday win at No. 22/25 Georgia (4/28) … Hit home runs in consecutive postseason games: in the Southeastern Conference Tournament vs. No. 18/18 Kentucky (5/10) and in the NCAA Tucson Regional against St. Francis (5/19) … Made the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.

2015-16 (PENN STATE): Started all but two games in her Nittany Lion career, ranking fifth in home runs all-time (24) … Also 11th in RBI (94), 12th in batting average (.331) and tied for 13th in walks (53) … Set PSU’s single-season RBI record as a sophomore with 50 RBI, which ranked 10th in the Big Ten in 2016, helping her claim a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team … Tied for fifth in a single season at PSU with 11 home runs, a year after posting the third-most in school history (13) … Ranked second on the team in batting average (.362), on-base percentage (.437) and slugging percentage (.601) in 2016 … Posted a team-best 21-game reached-base streak as a sophomore and tied a Nittany Lion record with her 7 RBI performance against Fordham (2/27) … Garnered 2016 Big Ten All-Tournament Team accolades … Ranked second in the Big Ten as a sophomore with 13 runners caught trying to steal … Tallied three grand slams as a freshman, including two in Big Ten play … Had an RBI in a game against Texas A&M as a rookie while hitting a home run as part of a 2-for-3 day at Mississippi State that same season … Hit two home runs in the Northwestern series in 2015 … Named Big Ten Player and Freshman of the Week on April 6 after leading the Nittany Lions to a series win at Wisconsin, hitting two grand slams in the week’s games (also faced Bucknell).

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year letter-winner at Hillsborough High … Gained all-state accolades on two occasions … 2014 Newark Star Ledger Hitter of the Year and Courier News All-Area Player of the Year as a senior after hitting .591 with seven doubles, 13 home runs and 50 RBI … Garnered Somerset County Player of the Year honors as a junior after going .471 at the plate with eight doubles and 32 RBI … Also named third-team all-state that year … Named All-Area Rookie of the Year in 2012 as a sophomore … Helped the Raiders to back-to-back Skyland Conference titles in 2012 and 2013 and a Central Jersey Group IV sectional title as a junior … Played travel ball with the Jersey Intensity group.

PERSONAL: Alyssa Marie VanDerveer is the daughter of Jim and Janice VanDerveer … Has one brother, Matthew … Majoring in sociology with a goal of working in the FBI.
