Kyle Lipsey

Kyle Lipsey, Associate Athletics Director for Apparel Operations, has been a key component of the South Carolina Athletics Department since 2007 when he was first named director of operations for the baseball program before transitioning up into his current role he has filed for more than 10 years.

Since 2013, Lipsey has effectively managed a $2 million Under Armour allotment, annually ordered and inventoried more than $1.2 million orders for South Carolina’s 21 teams and 20 athletics departments while also implementing the planning and forecasting of the purchasing of uniforms for teams based on Under Armour’s three-year cycle.

In addition to his current duties, he also serves as the athletic department’s liaison with Wilson and Jostens.

Lipsey served as baseball’s director of operations from Aug. 2007 through July of 2013. In that role, he coordinated off-field events and all logistical matters for 40 student-athletes and eight full-time staff members. He was part of a staff that won back-to-back National Championships in 2010 and 2011. In that time, Gamecock baseball won 22-straight postseason games, an NCAA record that still stands today.

While overseeing four student managers with baseball, he also managed the team’s annual budget.

Lipsey is a 2006 graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in management and marketing from the world-renowned Darla Moore School of Business. As an undergraduate student, he proudly served as a student manager for the 2004 College World Series team.

Lipsey is a native of Jonesville, S.C. and has one son, Michael Tanner, who is currently a student at South Carolina.
