Played in eight events, including all four fall tournaments… Best finish came at second career event, a tie for 17th at Mason Rudolph Championship with rounds of 74-71-69=214… Tied for 27th place at Seahawk Invitational, shooting 77-75-77=229… Won his third-round match at Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship, defeating Baylor[apos]s Cody Paladino, 3 & 2… Halved his match with Washington State[apos]s Hank Frame…Low round of the year was his final-round 69 at the Mason Rudolph Championship, leading the Gamecocks to a runner-up finish… Finished freshman season with scoring average of 76.67.

PRIOR TO SOUTH CAROLINA

Named the North Carolina Junior Player of the Year in 2009… Won 2010 Carolinas Amateur Championship…Semifinalist at 2009 U.S. Junior Amateur; qualified for 2008 U.S. Junior…Second-team Rolex All-American…Competed four years for Hopewell High School and coach Jeff Costa… First-team all-conference for four years… Runner-up at state championship in 2008…Ranked 13th in the Class of 2010 by Golfweek.

PERSONAL

Parents are Neil and Lynn Harrell…Father played golf for North Carolina State…Plans to major in retail…Chose South Carolina because of the coaching staff and the potential that exists with golf and academics…Was also recruited by Clemson, Georgia and Wake Forest.
