- Played dual singles matches at the Nos. 3, 4, 5, and 6 positions, posting winning records at Nos. 3, 4, and 5
- Began his dual career by clinching South Carolina’s win at then-No. 1 ranked Virginia with a three-set victory over Alexander Kiefer
- Won four ranked singles matches during his freshman season with his highest over then No. 52 Joseph Wayand of NC State 6-1, 6-3
