Indoor: Threw the shot put at five meets … Was ninth in the shot put at the SEC Championships with a toss of 15.61m/51-2.75 … Won the shot put at the Gamecock Opener with a season-best toss of 16.01m/52-6.50 … Threw farther than 15 meters at the Bob Pollock Meet with a toss of 15.03m/49-3.75 and took sixth place … Earned a top-three finish at the USC Indoor Open with a toss of 14.48m/47-6.25 … Also threw at the Carolina Challenge, taking seventh place.
Outdoor: Qualified for the East Regional in the shot put … Took 39th at the East Regional with a toss of 15.04m/49-4.25 … Finished 12th at the SEC Championships in the shot put with a toss of 15.53m/50-11.50 … Won the shot put at the Gamecock Invitational with a toss of 15.91m/52-2.50 … Threw her season-best toss in the shot put at the Florida Relays where she tossed the shot put 16.16m/53-0.75 … Also earned top-five finishes in the shot put at the Tiger Track Classic, Weems Baskin, USC Open and UNF Invitational.
2020
Indoors: Threw in seven events for the Gamecocks throughout the indoor season… Set a new Indoor Shot Put PR at the Tiger Paw Invite with a toss of 15.85m (52-0) to take second… Won the USC Indoor Open in Shot Put with a toss of 15.40m (50-6 1/4)… Took 12th at the SEC Indoor Championships.
Outdoors: Cancelled.
2019
Indoors: Competed in three meets during the indoor season, all in the Shot Put… Had a season-best toss of 14.98m (49-1 3/4) at the Orange & Purple Elite, taking third… Took third at the Gamecock Inaugural… Finished in eighth at the Dr. Sander Challenge.
Outdoors: Did not compete… graduated from the University of South Carolina after just three years on campus.
2018
Indoors: Took part in the shot put and the weight throw, setting new indoor personal bests in both… earned third place shot put finishes at the Navy Winter Invitational and the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational… set her shot put PR at the SEC Championships, where she finished sixth to score for the Gamecocks for a second-straight season… hit a mark of 15.44m (50-8) at the SEC meet, which ranked 10th in Carolina history at the close of the season… had her best weight throw finish at Navy, where she placed fourth… set a new weight throw PR at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational, a mark of 17.38m (57-0 1/4).
Outdoors: Threw the shot put and the discus over the course of nine meets… won the shot put at the Florida Relays with a then-PR of 15.69m (51-5 3/4)… added another victory at the USC Open with another PR, 15.90m (52-2), the seventh-best mark in Carolina history… finished 15th in the shot put at the SEC Championships… qualified for the NCAA East Regional for the second-straight season, finishing 25th… had her season-best discus mark of 45.23m (148-5) at the Black & Gold Challenge… finished fourth in the discus at the Gamecock Invitational and third at the USC Open… ended the season with a 13th-place discus result at the conference meet.
2017
Indoors: Competed in both the shot put and the weight throw… earned two podiums in the shot put and never finished lower than sixth at a meet… placed second in her debut, throwing 47-10 at the Clemson Invitational… did well at the Armory Invitational, hitting 49-1 1/2 to place fourth… upped her PR to 49-3 at the Tiger Paw Invitational… won the Tiger Tuneup with a mark of 47-1… scored for the Gamecocks at the SEC Championship and earned a spot on the league’s All-Freshman Team when she finished sixth, notching a season-best of 50-5 1/4… that mark is ninth-best in Carolina history… tallied a weight throw season best of 55-0 1/2 at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
Outdoors: Won her first two outdoor meets in the shot put, with marks of 47-2 1/2 at the Hurricane Invitational and 50-9 1/4 (a season best) at the Weems Baskin Invitational… her effort at the Weems ranks seventh in program history… took second at the Spec Towns Invitational… scored for the Gamecocks with a seventh-place finish at the SEC Championships, throwing 48-8 1/4… qualified for the NCAA East Regional and placed 45th… also earned three podium finishes in the discus… won the Weems Baskin Invitational with a throw of 150-8… tallied a season-best 151-2 when she finished second at the USC Open… finished 13th in the discus at the SEC Championship.
High School
Was a three-time North Carolina State Champion, winning the indoor shot put in 2013, the outdoor shot put in 2014 and the outdoor discus in 2015… Also placed seventh in the shot put at New Balance Indoor Nationals in 2015… Was a decorated high school student, serving as student body president at Mallard Creek High School… Also won the school’s Principal’s Award, Senior Maverick of the Year Award and Maverick Pride Award… Was on the honor roll all four years.
Personal
Daughter of Michael and Kimberly Springs… Has one sister, Jasmyne… Plans to major in pharmacy at South Carolina… Chose the Gamecocks over Kentucky, NC State, North Carolina, Tennessee, UCF and Mississippi State… Decided to attend South Carolina because when she stepped onto campus for the first time, it felt like home.
