Indoors: Competed twice in the shot put… finished seventh at the Dr. Sander Challenge and 11th at the SEC Championships, when he threw a season-best 17.24m (56-6 3/4).
Outdoors: Threw the shot put six times in his final season and qualified for his third NCAA East Regional… earned four top-five finishes, including second at the Black & Gold Challenge, fourth at the Florida Relays and Spec Towns Invitational and fifth at the Gamecock Invitational… reached his season best, 17.85m (58-6 3/4) in an 11th-place finish at the SEC Championships… finished his season in the NCAA East Regional.
Did not compete.
Indoors: Competed four times in the regular season in the shot put, never finishing outside of the top-five… had a top finish of second place at the Armory Invitational, and threw a season-best 60-2 in a third-place result at the Tiger Paw Invitational… scored for the Gamecocks at the SEC Championships, when he finished eighth.
Outdoors: Won his shot put season-opener at the Hurricane Invitational with a mark of 61-3 that led the nation for a week… tossed a PR, 61-7, to finish fourth at the Florida Relays… that mark ranks fifth in Carolina history… earned a bronze medal at the SEC Championships, finishing third… qualified for the NCAA East Regional and finished 13th, the last student-athlete not to qualify for Nationals, with a throw of 60-4… also competed in the discus, setting a PR of 160-7 at the Gamecock Invitational.
Competed for two seasons at Florida State… Qualified for the NCAA East Regional in the shot put in 2015.
Was a three-time state champion in shot put while also winning a discus state title at Smithtown West HS… Also won indoor and outdoor national championships in the shot put.
Son of John and Haidee Bonhurst… Plans to major in sociology at South Carolina… Chose the Gamecocks because they give him the opportunity to be his best.
