Indoor: Ran the 800 meters five times for the Gamecocks … Best performance came at the USC Indoor Open where he placed sixth and ran his personal-best time of 1:54.78 … Placed in the top five at the Gamecock Opener in the 800 meters … Also ran at the Carolina Challenge … Bob Pollock Meet and South Carolina Invitational.
Outdoor: Ran the 800 meters twice for Carolina … Took 18th at the Weems Baskin with a time of 2:03.70 … Ran a season-best time of 1:56.84 at the USC Open to take 26th.
2020
Indoors: Competed for the Gamecocks twice during the 2020 indoor campaign… Ran the 800m at the USC Indoor Open, running a time of 2:00.77… Ran as a part of the Distance Medley Relay at the Gamecock Opener, taking fourth with the squad.
Outdoors: Cancelled.
2019
Indoors: Ran in five meets as a true freshman… made his collegiate debut at the Orange & Purple Elite, finishing eighth in the 600m with a time of 1:22.72… primarily focused on the 800m in his final four appearances, including a season-best run of 1:56.44 at the Tiger Paw Invitational.
Outdoors: Was part of the 800m in four meets… earned his first collegiate podium at the Buccaneer Invitational, running 1:56.16 to come in third place… posted a season-best 1:55.77 at the Gamecock Invitational.
High School
Was a state champion and a school record-holder at Fort Dorchester High School, where he was coached by Thane Williams… Won the 800m at the 2018 South Carolina Class 5A meet while setting FDHS’s record in the event… Also won the tori-county, district and region titles in his signature event… Was an all-region honoree in cross country… Was a strong student, earning the Lowcountry Showdown Student-Athlete Award.
Personal
Son of David and Laurie Fladd… Has one brother, Jacob… His father was a New York state champion pole vaulter in high school… Majoring in mechanical engineering, with the career goal of being an astronaut and a SpaceX engineer… Came to Carolina for the great engineering program and the opportunity to compete in the SEC.
