Ran in the USC Open, a two-mile race, and finished 18th overall in 14:41.91.
2015 Track
Indoor: Ran the 800 at two meets… finished 21st at the SEC Championship, running a time of 2:15.56… was a member of the 4×4 and 4×8 relay teams… part of the 4×8 team that ran a time of 9:15.76 at the Armory Invite, the second-fastest in program history.
Outdoor: Ran her best 800 of the year at the Bill Carson Invite, finishing second with a time of 2:11.91… became a key member of the relays, participating in the 4×4, 4×8, distance medley and sprint medley relays… won the 4×4 relay at the Crimson Tide Invite (3:46.13)… finished 16th in the prelims at the SEC Championships (2:13.14).
2014 Track
Indoors: Finished second at the prestigious Armory Collegiate Invitational in the 500 meters, registering a time of 1:13.52…ran her best 400 meter time at her first SEC Indoor Championships, turning in a 56.29 to take 24th.
Outdoors: Ran the 400 meters early in the season, posting her best finish at the Weems Baskin Invite (2nd – 56.70) and her top time of 56.55 at the USC Outdoor Open…turned to the 800 meters for her final two meets of the season, running a 2:13.21 to take second at the Bill Carson invite and taking 20th at the SEC Outdoor Championships with a time of 2:14.86… was a member of the 4x800m relay at Penn Relays that finished 12th, but turned in the No. 9 time in program history at 9:10.42.
HIGH SCHOOL
Earned varsity letters in track each year of her high school career at Fike High School in Wilson, N.C., while also earning two volleyball varsity letters…2013 1A/2A/3A North Carolina indoor state champion and record holder in the 500-meter dash…2013 3A North Carolina outdoor state champion…boasts personal bests of 41.97 in the 300m, and 55.80 in the 400m

Originally from Fairfax, Va., Maya is the daughter of Lisa and Stacey Evans and has two siblings, Rachel and Noah…was an honor roll student and National Honor Society member with a 4.5 GPA…posted 500 volunteer and community service hours…earned the Outstanding Service Award, Fike Faculty Citizenship Trophy was the 2012-13 Fike Female Scholar Athlete of the Year…in 2013 was the Student Body President, Homecoming Queen and Prom Queen…also considered North Carolina, Cornell, Temple and Clemson, but decided to be a Gamecock because both the athletic and academic programs are top notch which opens the door for so many opportunities.
