Scolastica Jepngetich Bio
‘Scola’ had an up and down cross country season in 2010. She finished from No. 1 to No. 5 for the Gamecocks during the fall season. She was the team[apos]s No. 1 runner as they won the Disneyworld Invitational, running 18:18 for 5K. With more patience at the beginning of her races, she will have better and more consisitant results in 2011. Her track season, she her PR in the 800, dropping down to 2:10. Now that Scola has had a year to adjust to her new home, coach Rosenthal knows she will do even better this fall.
Scola had never raced competitively in cross country, but her field race and track times lead coach Rosenthal to believe she will have a great career. She comes from Kenya with a prep PR of 4:40 in the 1,500.
In high school, Jepngetich played soccer, volleyball and hockey in addition to track.
A nursing major, Jepngetich may be a surprise runner for the Gamecocks and member of the pack.
