2008: First season at South Carolina after transferring from James Madison … placed third at the UNC Classic to open the season … indoor best 15-7 for a fourth place finish at the Tiger Invitational … took third at the Gamecock Invitational … outdoors, saw his best clearance at the SEC Championships with a height of 15-9 for an 11th place finish.
HIGH SCHOOL: Coached by Jeff Butler at Douglas Southall Freeman High School in Richmond … Holds school-record in pole vault and was ranked first in the area for outdoor pole vault … won Central region title … took third at the Nike nationals in Greensboro … competed with Xtreme Heights pole vaulting club in Richmond, Va., coached by Val Osipenko … holds the club outdoor record for high school seniors at 15-1 … also played football where he was an All-Academic Team selection and earned honorable mention honors at wide receiver … an All-Colonial District and Central Region selection in wrestling after earning the title at 171 pounds.
