Bryce Sherman

Transitions to wide receiver this spring where he is listed third on the depth chart at the slot position… fast and tough player… coaching staff will try to find ways to get the ball in his hands… returning starter as the kickoff returner… shortest player on the roster and one of the shortest in the nation at 5-4.

2010: Emerged as the primary kickoff returner… played in all 14 games… returned 35 kickoffs for 713 yards (20.4 avg) with a long return of 37 yards vs. Arkansas… also had a 31-yard return against Kentucky… carried the ball two times against Troy… named the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

2009: Walk-on who joined the squad in the fall… was a pleasant surprise during fall camp, working his way into some playing time… originally was slotted at wide receiver but ended up at tailback… became the regular kickoff returner late in the season… had 24 kick returns for 502 yards, a 20.9 yard average… rushed nine times for 57 yards, a 6.3 yards per carry average… logged his first two carries at Georgia for 27 yards including a season-best 23-yard burst…had a 48-yard pass reception against Arkansas, his only catch of the season… made his first career start against Florida when the Gamecocks opened in an unusual offensive formation.

2008: Attended South Carolina on a track scholarship… did not play football.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Carver High School in Winston-Salem, N.C. in 2008… coached in football by Keith Wilkes… named to the North Carolina all-state football team… also lettered in track & field where he was coached by Anthony Brannon and James McMillan… considered the top ranked sprinter in North Carolina in 2007… was the North Carolina state champion in the 100 and 200 meters, the state MVP and Runner of the Year… top times were 10.51 in the 100m and 21.4 in the 200… also named All-American in 2006 in the 60m dash… was a Who[apos]s Who of America honoree.

PERSONAL: Bryce Emanuel Sherman was born January 20, 1990… parents are Brian and Jennifer Sherman… pursuing a degree in sport and entertainment management… selected Carolina over Virginia Tech, Western Carolina, Clemson and Michigan among others.
