2014 SEC Academic Honor Roll
2014: Indoors – Cleared a height in one of his two meets in 2014, notching a mark of 6[apos]2′ (1.88m) to take second at the Gamecock Indoor #2…Outdoors – Entered the high jump three times, clearing a best mark of 6[apos] ¾’ (1.85m) at the home Weems Baskin Invitational…took fourth at the USC Outdoor Open (1.80m // 5-10.75).
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in basketball in addition to track and field…won the Chick-Fil-A Invitational with a high jump clearance of 6[apos]2…finished second in the South Carolina High School State 1A Championships with a height of 6[apos]4…2012 All-State in the high jump, two-time All-Region selection…McCormick High School Field Athlete of the Year in 2011 and 2012
PERSONAL: Son of Jesse and Gena Wideman…has three siblings, Zingo, Jordan and Wesley…mother Gena played basketball at SC State…plans to major in business… valedictorian of the class of 2012 at McCormick High School…is a Palmetto Fellows Scholarship recipient at the University of South Carolina…came to South Carolina for the superb athletics, atmosphere and location.
