Indoors: Ran at the Tiger Paw Invitational, finishing 37th in the 800m and 12th as part of the 4x400m relay.
Outdoors: Ran at one event, the Hurricane Invitational, winning the 800m in a time of 1:55.08.
2016
Indoors: Focused on the 400m distance for the season, running hurdles just once… ran a personal best of 48.73 at the Tyson Invitational… ran on the team’s 4x400m relay, with a highlight of finishing third at the Armory Invite.
Outdoors: Moved back into the hurdles in the spring, running solely in the 400mH… earned first-team All-American honors at nationals… never finished worse than second in any race during the regular season, racking up four wins… finished fifth at the SEC Championships and fifth at the regional meet to qualify for Eugene… also ran the 4x400m relay, which finished fifth at the Penn Relays and eight at SECs… ran at the European Championships in Amsterdam to close out his season.
2015
Indoors: Recorded three runner-up finishes for the season, competing primarily with his own teammates… won the 55mH event at the USC Open… finished second at Virginia Tech in back-to-back weekends… saved his best effort for when it mattered most, running a personal best of 7.77 at the SEC Championships to qualify second… finished sixth in the finals to score for the team and qualified for nationals… was the team’s top finisher at the NCAA Championships, taking ninth and just missing a chance at the finals by just seven one-thousandths of a second… his top time of 7.77 ranked 11th in the country… also ran on the team’s top 4×400 relay squad.
Outdoors: Shined in his favorite event, the 400mH, earning All-American honors at nationals… won the Shamrock Invite with a time of 50.89… finished seventh at the Florida Relays… set a new personal best in the event with a time of 49.78 to win the Bill Carson Invite… that time moves him to sixth in program history and ranks sixth in the nation… won the 400mH title at the Penn Relays, beating the field by over a second (50.18)… also helped lead Carolina to the shuttle hurdle relay title at the Penn Relays, with the third fastest time in program history (55.53)… qualified for nationals in the 400mH, finishing ninth at the East Regional championship… finished sixth at the NCAA Championship, running in 50.20… also competed for the 4×1, 4×4, 4×4 and shuttle hurdle relay teams… won silver in the 400mH at the European U23 Championship in Tallinn, Estonia, setting a new personal record of 49.66.
2014
Indoors: Steadily improved throughout the season as a part of the Gamecocks’ 60-meter hurdle trio…captured three top five finishes in the 60 meter hurdles, including a runner-up finish at the Virginia Tech Challenge (7.95)…saved his best for his first SEC Indoor Championships where he ran a 7.83 to finish fifth.
Outdoors: Began his season with a second place finish (Shamrock Invite 51.52) and a win at Weems Baskin (51.10) before posting a then-collegiate best 51.02 in the 400mH at Florida Relays to take ninth…also ran the 110mH, winning the Shamrock Invite (13.98) and Weems Baskin (13.77) in back-to-back weeks…13.77 at home Weems Baskin was a new personal best and No. 9 in program history…missed some time due to injury, but returned to the track five weeks later at SEC Outdoors and advanced to the finals in the 110-meter hurdles and finished just outside of the 400-meter hurdle finals in 10th…took eighth in the 110mH finals at SECs (14.22)…hit his stride at NCAA Prelims, blazing to the No. 8 time in program history at 50.67 to earn his first NCAA Outdoor bid where he finished 21st with a time of 52.80.
HIGH SCHOOL
Earned four letters in track at Makelanrinne Sports High School in Helsinki, Finland…finished in fifth place in the 110mH (13.62) at the 2012 World Junior Championships…at the 2011 European Junior Championships in 2011, took fifth in the 110mH (13.77)…finished third in the 110mH (13.53) at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore…has indoor PRs of 6.91 in the 60m, 21.99 in the 200m, 48.94 in the 400m and 7.84 in the 60mH…outdoor personal bests of 10.78 in the 100m, 21.58 in the 200m and 13.88 in the 110mH.
