Season and Career Results
2021
Indoor: Threw the shot put at five meets for the Gamecocks … Competed at the SEC Championships, placing 15th with a season-best toss of 14.38m/47-2.25 … Earned a top-five finish at the USC Indoor Open … Was in the top 15 at the Carolina Challenge, Bob Pollock Meet and South Carolina Invitational … Improved throughout the season by nearly three meters from the first meet of 2021 to the final meet of the season.
Outdoor: Threw the shot put eight times for Carolina … Competed at the SEC Championships and finished 17th with a toss of 14.32m/46-11.75 … Threw a season-best mark of 14.92m/48-11.50 at the UNF Invitational for eighth place … Won the shot put at the Charlotte Invitational with a throw of 14.41m/47-3.50 … Threw 14.71m/48-3.25 or better at Weems Baskin, the Florida Relays, the Gamecock Invitational and the USC Open … Did not complete a legal throw at the Tiger Track Classic.
2020
Indoors: Threw Shot Put six times for the Gamecocks… Finished second at the Gamecock Opener with a season-best toss of 15.12m (49-7 1/4)… Finished in the top five four times during the season, finshing second once, fourth twice and fifth once.
Outdoors: Cancelled.
2019
Indoors: Threw Shot Put in seven meets during the indoor season, hitting a new personal-record at the Gamecock Inaugural with a throw of 15.36m (50-4 3/4) to take first place… Finished in third place at the USC Indoor Open in Shot Put with a throw of 14.33m (47-0 1/4)… With a throw of 14.89m (48-10 1/4) finished in 14th at the SEC Championships.
Outdoors: Broke through in the outdoor season in both the Shot Put and the Discus, setting top-10 record marks throughout the season… Threw the fourth-best mark in program history at the 125th Penn Relays, taking the title with a throw of 16.33m (53-6 3/4)… Tossed the 10th-best Discus mark in program history at the USC Outdoor Open at 48.01, taking first place… Was the winner in the Shot Put at the Buccaneer Invitational and the USC Outdoor Open on top of the 125th Penn Relays title… Took home the best Discus Throw at the Buccaneer Invitational at 47.08 (154-5)… Finished in 21st in the Shot Put and 15th in the Discus at the 2019 SEC Championships… Qualified for NCAA Regionals for the first time, competing at the NCAA East Regional in Shot Put.
2018
Indoors: Competed in the shot put and the weight throw over the course of three meets… had her best weight throw effort at the Navy Winter Invitational, finishing 11th with a mark of 13.06m (42-10 1/4)… posted her top shot put effort at the Columbia Challenge, throwing 14.00m (45-11 1/4) to come in 14th.
Outdoors: Did not compete due to injury.
High School
Was a six-year letter winner at Seneca High School, where she was coached by Karl Addis… Led the Bobcats to the 2016 SCHSL AAA State Championship… Earned three individual state titles over two different events… Named Gatorade Player of the Year in 2016-17… Also lettered in volleyball and basketball.
Personal
Daughter of Howard and Shannon… Has two sisters, Mykiah and Majayla, along with a brother, Christopher… Plans to major in early childhood education at Carolina… Came to Carolina after falling in love with the coaching staff and the athletic facilities during the recruiting process… Picked the Gamecocks over Clemson, TCU, NC State, Missouri, Miami (Fla.) and Florida A&M.
