2016: Selected as the lone team captain and started all 24 matches for the Gamecocks…boasted career highs in points (27) and goals (8)…led Carolina in assists (11) for the fourth-straight season…her 11 assists ranked 10th in Division I and fifth among SEC players…was third on the team with a career-high three game-winners, the final one coming in the NCAA Sweet 16 against fourth-ranked BYU (11/19) on a second-half penalty kick…converted a penalty kick in overtime against No. 17 Florida (10/16) to lift Carolina past the Gators…her 27 points were the second-best total among Gamecocks…totaled three assists and one goal in the NCAA Tournament opening round against Alabama State (11/11) to total five points, the most by a player in one game in program history…her first of two assists against Arkansas (10/9) gave her the all-time program record…tallied two multi-assist games on the year and recorded her first two-goal game against UNCG (9/15).

2015: Led the Gamecocks in assists (10) for the third-straight season after starting all 20 matches… finished as one of four South Carolina players to tally double-digit points (12 — 1G, 10A)…her 10 assists ranked third among SEC players and 14th nationally…netted her lone goal of the year in South Carolina’s season opener against Northeastern (8/21) and finished the match with a career-high four points after adding two assists…totaled multiple assists in four matches during the season…finished the year with career highs in shots (30) and shots on goal (14).

2014: Started all 25 contests in the midfield and led the Gamecocks in assists for the second year in a row with seven in 2014…three assists were game-winners…also netted three goals…was third on the team with 13 points (3g, 7a)…logged 2126 minutes on the field, third most on the team…kicked off the year with an assist in the season-opening win at ECU (8/22) on Taylor Leach’s second goal of the game…put a season-high two shots on frame against No. 22 Boston University (8/29)…netted a goal in back-to-back contests vs. High Point (9/7) and at USF (9/12)…got back on the board at Alabama (10/3), assisting on Savannah McCaskill’s goal in the 1-1 tie…posted one of her best matches of the season against No. 5 Florida (10/16), scoring the night’s first goal just 1:53 into the contest and then serving the corner kick in the 89th minute that set up McCaskill’s header for the 3-2 victory…collected the game-winning assist in the next game as well, helping Lindsey Lane get on the board in the second minute in a 2-0 win over Ole Miss (10/19)…assisted on a pair of goals against Mississippi State (10/30) in the 3-0 win to cap the regular season…added another assist in the 2-1 win over Missouri (11/5) in the quarterfinals at the SEC Tournament…was set to take the fifth penalty kick in the NCAA First Round against No. 22 Clemson (11/14), before the Gamecocks clinched a 4-3 upper hand in PKs to advance…in the second round against Seattle (11/21), put a pair of shots on frame and got her chance in penalty kicks, powering a kick low and left to advance the Gamecocks to the Round of 16…recorded a shot in the 1-0 win over No. 6 North Carolina (11/23)…put a shot on goal at No. 2 Florida State (11/28) in the national quarterfinals.

2013: Started 20 of 23 matches … Played 1,620 minutes … Third on the team in points with 14 … Set school’s freshman record with 12 assists … Finished 11th nationally in assists and first in the SEC … Tallied two assists against UNCW (8/23) in her first career game in a 2-0 win … Tied program record for most assists in game with three in a 4-1 win over Vanderbilt (10/25) … Posted third multi-assist game of the season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with two versus Furman (11/15) … Scored first career goal at No. 24 Ole Miss (10/20) in a 1-1 draw … Selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

PRE-COLLEGE: A 2013 graduate of T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson, S.C… lettered four years in soccer… played for head coach Katelyn Davis… evaluated as a four-star recurit and ranked No. 19 in the South Atlantic region by TopDrawerSoccer…helped her team to the 4A state title in 2012… team also was the 2012 Viking Cup Champions… highly decorated as a junior… named an NSCAA All-American, the SCSoccer.com Player of the Year, the HSSR 4A Player of the Year and nominated for the Gatorade Player of the Year… garnered SCCAWS 4A Player of the Year honors as both a sophomore and junior… earned All-Region and All-State honors in each of her first three prep seasons… was a member of the U.S. Youth Soccer Southern Regional Champions in 2012… also a member of the South Carolina state club champion soccer squad every year from 2005-12… off the pitch, was the editor of the 2013 Yearbook, a member of the Key Club and Beta Club, a commencement marshal, the treasurer of the National Honor Society and ranked among the top 15 academically at T.L. PERSONAL: Chelsea Nicole Drennan was born Sept. 9, 1994… parents are Bob and Kim Drennan… nickname is Chels… brother, Andrew, was on the men’s soccer team at Wofford College from 2009-12, serving as a goalkeeper… hopes to major in exercise science or pre-pharmacy… hobbies include church basketball and church.
