Scott Salwasser
Scott Salwasser joined the Gamecock staff in January 2020 after spending the 2019 season as the head football strength & conditioning coach at Texas State, where he oversaw the comprehensive preparation program that utilizes speed, power, strength and conditioning to improve performance and minimize injury risk while enhancing football skills.
Prior to his stint in San Marcos, Salwasser spent three years (2016-18) as the director of speed and power for football at Texas Tech, where he was in charge of linear and multi-directional speed development, plyometrics, ballistics, and position specific movement.
Salwasser began his coaching career at Sacramento State (2004-09), working first as a graduate assistant for two years, then as an assistant strength & conditioning coach. In July of 2009 he began a two-year stint as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at Louisiana. He joined the staff at Cal-Berkeley in 2012 and worked for four seasons with the Bears’ football program as an assistant strength & conditioning coach.
Salwasser, who earned his undergraduate degree from UC Davis in 2002 and a master’s in kinesiology from Sacramento State in 2006, holds a certification in strength & conditioning from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), along with other accreditations.
