South Carolina punter Tyeler Dean has been added to the Watch List for the Ray Guy Award. The Ray Guy Award is presented annually to the nation’s outstanding punter by the Greater Augusta Sports Council.
Dean is averaging 44.2 yards per punt, good for fourth in the SEC. Last season he averaged 42.7 per punt and hit a career-best 70-yard punt in the 2002 Outback Bowl win against Ohio State (an bowl record).
The native of Barnwell, S.C. is a senior and a former walk-on who will graduate in December with a degree in Retailing.
The award will be presented in December, 2002 in Augusta, Ga.

** Boomed four punts in the Temple game for a 51.3 average, with a 59-yarder in the first half.
** Two punts for a 39-yard average at Vanderbilt. Long of the night was a 40-yarder.
** Four punts for an average of 40.5 yards against MSU. Long of the night was a 49-yarder and lobbed two inside the 20.
