WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – South Carolina junior diver Taryn Zack wrapped up her stay at the NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday afternoon with a 20th-place finish on the 3-meter springboard.

Zack, who earned All-America status in the 1-meter finals on Thursday, finished with a score of 306.15, missing the consolation final by five points. Despite very high marks both of her twisting dives, she struggled with two of her other dives and fell just short of a fourth All-America honor.

Minnesota’s Kelci Bryant won the championship with a score of 415.50, with Houston’s Anastasia Pozdniakova second at 406.45. Florida’s Kara Salmone, the only SEC diver to make the championship final, was sixth at 326.75, Zack’s 12 points from her seventh-place finish last night place South Carolina 33rd in the overall team standings with one day of competition left at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center.

Next week, freshman Michael Flach will compete for the Gamecocks at the NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships. The meet gets underway next Thursday, March 26, in Columbus, Ohio.
