FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior Elliott Haynie hit his second NCAA provisional mark and placed third among collegians in the pole vault invitational section to lead South Carolina on the final day of competition at the prestigious Tyson Invitational.

Haynie cleared 17-0 ¾ (5.20m) in the invitational pole vault section in his first meet since jumping 17-3 ½ at the Texas A&M Challenge. In the other pole vault section, junior Matt Shuler placed second while establishing a personal best for the second straight meet. Shuler cleared 16-6 ¾ (5.05m), tying winner Jonathan Webb from Oklahoma but taking second due to number of attempts.

In the triple jump, freshman Lincoln Carr took fourth at 49-5 ¾ (15.08m). Obakeng Ngwigwa and Antonio Sales led the men’s sprinters with times of 21.51 and 21.52 in the 200-meter dash.

On the women’s side, Breehana Jacobs competed in the 200-meter dash, running 24.94. She also ran the third leg of the 4x400m relay team that ran 3:40.97 and included Brandi Cross, Nadonnia Rodrigues and Kelsey McCorkle.
