The last weather suspension of a football game in Williams-Brice Stadium was Sept. 9, 1972 when heavy rain and a power failure delayed a South Carolina-Virginia game for about 40 minutes.

The first period recovery of a Georgia fumble by Jonathan Martin was his third of the season and also the third of his career. The second period recovery of a Georgia fumble by Deandre Eiland was his first of the season and first of his career.
The announced attendance of 84,227 was the third largest crowd in Williams-Brice Stadium history. Attendance for two South Carolina home games this season totals 167,944, an average of 83,972.
The 42 yard third period run by Corey Jenkins to the Georgia 33 yard line was a career high for Jenkins. He had a 41 yard touchdown run last year against Arkansas.
When Georgia’s David Pollack intercepted a Corey Jenkins pass in the Gamecock end zone in the fourth period it was the first touchdown that Georgia had scored against South Carolina since the 10:37 mark in the first period of the 2000 game in Columbia. Georgia scored one field goal against the Gamecocks in 2000 and three field goals in 2001.It was the first interception touchdown by a Gamecock opponent since Howard Bartley of Clemson scored on a 48 yard interception return in 1998.
The fourth period 24 yard touchdown pass from Corey Jenkins to Ryan Brewer was Brewer’s fifth career touchdown reception and first this season. It was Brewer’s eighth career TD. He has three by rushing. It was the third touchdown pass by Jenkins this season and also the third of his career. The Brewer touchdown broke a scoring drought of five quarters by the Gamecocks. They did not score in the second half at Virginia or in the first three quarters against Georgia.
Quarterback Corey Jenkins was South Carolina’s leading rusher for the third consecutive game. Jenkins rushed for 101 yards on 17 attempts against Georgia. In the season opener he rushed 113 yards against New Mexico State and he had 93 rushing yards against Virginia. In three games Jenkins has netted 298 rushing yards in 57 attempts. Jenkins had 180 passing yards for 281 total offense against Georgia.
Georgia
For the first time since 1995 Georgia won a football game without the offense scoring a touchdown. In that 1995 game Georgia defeated Kentucky 12-3 on four field goals.
Sophomore David Pollack was named the CBS-TV Player of the game. His touchdown interception Was his first career interception. He also recovered a fumble. Georgia returned two interception for touchdowns last year.
Sophomore Fred Gibson had 188 all purpose yards with 116 receiving on six catches and two kickoff returns for 72 yards. Junior Billy Bennett was two for two on field goals, both coming in the 20-29 yard range. In his career he is 12 for 12 within that range. Overall Bennett is 33 for 42 on field goal attempts.
Coach Mark Richt is now 5-0 in road games in his two years at Georgia. In his 14 games he is 3-3 in games decided by 10 points of less.
Running back Musa Smith set a career high in rushing attempts with 27. He gained a total of 103 yards.
