The South Carolina – Tennessee football game, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27 in Knoxville, will kick off at 7:45 p.m. ET and will be televised nationally by ESPN it was announced today.
The Gamecocks are 6-1 overall, and 3-1 in the SEC, heading into a showdown Saturday with Vanderbilt (3-3, 1-3 SEC). They are ranked sixth in the country by the Associated Press, eighth in the USA Today/Coaches’ poll and sixth in the first BCS Standings. Tennessee is 4-2 overall, 2-1 in the SEC with a Saturday date at Alabama (5-2, 3-1) on the horizon. They are ranked 20th in the A.P. poll, 22nd in the USA Today/Coaches’ poll and 21st in the initial BCS Standings.
The Volunteers lead the all-time series over Carolina, 20-3-2, including a 12-1 mark at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. However, the Gamecocks won on their last trip into Neyland, knocking off the Vols by a 16-15 score on Oct. 29, 2005.
