Seven members of the South Carolina Gamecock football team were selected to the 2008 Southeastern Conference Coaches Preseason All-SEC Football team, the league announced today.

Senior wide receiver Kenny McKinley and junior cornerback Captain Munnerlyn were named to the first-team unit. Senior linebacker Jasper Brinkley, junior linebacker Eric Norwood, junior safety Emanuel Cook and senior punter/placekicker Ryan Succop earned second team honors. Junior tight end Jared Cook was a third team selection.

The defending SEC-champion LSU Tigers led all teams with 14 selections on the three teams. Florida was the only other team in double figure selections with 10.

This is the fifth year of the SEC Coaches Pre-Season All-SEC Football Team. The team is voted on by the league’s 12 coaches and coaches are not able to vote for their own players. It is released in advance of the 2008 SEC Football Media Days, which will be held July 23-25, at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala.
