2009-10 – Competed in two meets…Posted her top times at Gamecock Invitational… Had team[apos]s fourth-best time in 200 fly (2:05.82)… Other top times: 500 free (5:15.16), 400 IM (4:42.83), 100 fly (1:02.05)…Named to SEC Academic Honor Roll.

PRE-COLLEGE – Graduated from South Aiken High School… Team captain….Three-time all-state performer… Was high point scorer for Thoroughbreds all four years of high school… Never lost a regular-season individual race in four years of competition… Had three runner-up finishes at the state meet… Club team was Aiken-Augusta Swim League…Three-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American… Qualified for 2009 U.S. Open in 200 fly…Competed at NCSA Junior Nationals in 2008 and 2009…Graduated magna cum laude.

PERSONAL – Full name is Laura Elizabeth Thomas… Born October 19, 1990… Parens are Steve and Susan Thomas… Plans to major in exercise science… Chose South Carolina because she has always wanted to swim in the SEC and because of South Carolina[apos]s great exercise science program.
